About Me (In My Own Words)
I was diagnosed with Marfan Syndrome at age 2 and have had ongoing issues. Long story short in July 2015 I went to the emergency room for chest pain (after not going to a doc for 10 years) and found out I had a 5cm ascending aortic aneurysm. By the end of November my aneurysm was over 6 cm and was put into the hospital until my surgery. Ultimately they ended up having to do an aneurysm repair, aortic valve replacement, and an aortic root repair if that sounds about right. Apparently I was lucky because my aneurysm started to tear the morning of surgery. It is now almost 7 weeks out. I have started cardiac rehab and go back to work tomorrow. My surgeon was amazing and I am thankful to be here!
