So today I got a letter from my insurance company telling me that although my hospital of choice was in network, my surgeon was NOT! Quite a panic. Took a few hours to sort out since today is a Saturday and I'm supposed to report for surgery Monday at 5:30 in the morning, but everything worked out. Whew!! Gonna have an early Valentines Day tomorrow with my prince of a husband. My beautiful daughter will hold down the fort at home (we are only 20 blocks from New York Presbyterian) and my son who is in medical school is calling in regularly for updates. I love hearing about everyone going in and coming out of surgery with such good reports! Good luck to everyone!

Yesterday at the allergist's I had a positive reaction to the chlorhexadine, which was what everyone had suspected, so that is good...now they know how to proceed. My cold is practically gone, so all systems are go for surgery on Monday. Feeling a LITTLE NERVOUS.

This past weekend I came down with a bit of a cold. I've notified Dr. Smith's office, and I'm just praying that this doesn't mean ANOTHER delay! I feel good today, just a trace of the cold... I know that they will make a decision that is in my best interest. It's just been such an an extended period of preparation! Enough already! I just want to "wake up on the other side."
