My son will be having surgery this month and this is what his cardiologist told him. His bp has never been high, always pretty normal, but that it will go very high after ?

Cristen Marzula Hi Angela - Like Tammi, I had Hypotension (low blood pressure) following my surgery 6 weeks ago and continue to have a slightly lower BP due to Metoprolol (beta-blocker) to prevent the occurrence of atrial fibrillation. When in doubt, don't hesitate to ask your cardiologist or surgeon any questions you may have PRIOR to surgery. I wish your Son a successful surgery!
