I am ready. When I look back, it was January 2004 when I was first informed that I have Aortic Valve Stenosis. And that some day, I will have to get the valve replaced. Eleven years went by so quickly. I am sixty one now. Feel good and ready for the bid day. The valve opening dropped from 2.5 cm2 to 0.72 cm2 now. Its time although I feel good and don't have any major symptoms.

Tammy Pilcher Prayers and best wishes, Bobby! My BAV had stenosis with an opening of 0.39cm2 by the time it was found. I had been having symptoms for 2 years and didn't know they were heart related, because I thought my asthma was getting worse. I had my surgery 3 weeks after it was found. That was 9 and a half months ago and I've done great. You'll soon have all this behind you and can get back to your life. God bless you!

Bobby Manzoor Thanks for the comments and encouragement. I am a very luck person that god has give me this chance to get my damaged valve repaired/replaced. My oldest sister also had the same problem and could not get her heart valve replaced. She passed away in 2005 at 72. Not because of the heart but because of other 'stuff'. She suffered the heart valve problems.
Yesterday and today have been strange. Sometimes I ask myself if I am making the right decision of going through this surgery? kind of second guessing....
Also, have really missed my late mom and dad. And how much they loved me and how much I still love them.
One of my dearest sister will be here tomorrow. She is visting us from Dallas. My wife and kids are looking forward to that and all are excited.
Life goes on. I keep myself real busy with work and try to not think too much. Now I can wait until after the surgery and how I am getting on with the recovery... I was talking to a friend who is a cancer survivor. He had a surgery about 5 years ago and was telling me that this is the only vacation I will ever get. Relax, enjoy, exercise, walk, play, watch TV and movies on Netflix, and of course eat health organic stuff. This is you day and your period - live it to the fullest.....
I am positive moving forward.....
Will keep you posted....
Thanks
Bobby
Sherry Nichols Bobby sounds like you got it all planned out good luck and God bless

Also, as most of may have guessed from my name, I am a Muslim and Friday is our day. So as usual, I went to the mosque for the Friday prayers and the Imam (priest) prayed for me after the congregation. very positive and still have a lot of chores before the surgery....

When I look back, it was January 2004 when I was first informed that I have Aortic Valve Stenosis. And that some day, I will have to get the valve replaced. Eleven years went by so quickly. I am sixty one now. Feel good and ready for the big day. The valve opening dropped from 2.5 cm2 to 0.72 cm2 now. Its time although I feel good and don't have any major symptoms.
Tomorrow at this time, I'll be checking in at Emory, St. Joseph for Dr Ed. Chen to replace the valve. A little anxious but overall content.
