Well, 22 days since surgery. I am feeling good and getting stronger everyday. Incision is healed. Walking about 40 minutes a day which for me is great since I hadn't walked much the last few years. The first 2 days after surgery was tough. Now just a distant memory. Got released on Christmas morning. What a great gift that was. Prayers for all facing surgery and for those in recovery mode.

Well tomorrow is my pre-op testing. Have to be at the hospital at 9 AM. My surgery is scheduled for 7:30 on the 20th. Check in time is 5:30. Luckily it only takes 15 minutes to the hospital. My sister is going with me while my other sister will be staying at home with my Mom who suffers with Alzheimers. I am her primary caregiver and she doesn't know about the surgery. I can't wait to be on the side of recovery.

Marie Myers God Bless you! I know first hand on being both a heart surgery patient and an Alzheimer's caregiver. I am hoping you have a very smooth surgery and easy recovery! The preop testing day was more than I had expected, and it took several hours to get it all done. The waiting time is the hardest, and before you know it you will be posting about your recovery!

Phil Wutz I'll keep you in my prayers - I had an aortic valve replacement a little over a year ago (12/12) and I consider it my second birthday! The first couple of days are the worse but you'll be surprised how good you feel with the new valve. May God bless you and guide the surgeon's hands for a perfect outcome.

The education class was enlightening. It relaxed me even more knowing what to expect. I will update when I can. Thanks all.
