I’m so happy to have found this group. I had my 1st Heart Surgery 2 yrs. ago. I had my mitral and aortic valves replaced. Well, now I’m scheduled to have aortic aneurysm surgery in 2wks. It has grown quickly and I’m now at a 5.7, so it’s pretty bad. I’m so afraid to have a 2nd Open Heart Surgery. Trying to stay calm but it is very hard. I was 58 w/my 1st surgery, now I’m 60 and I hope everything goes well.

Catie B I hate that you need another surgery, Deborah. When I needed to choose a tissue valve, the surgeons were very reassuring about second surgeries. Gratefully, they have become safer and safer. The risk related to your aneurysm is greater than the surgical risks, I know. Please keep us posted--we here definitely understand how tough the anxiety is ahead of surgery!

Joy Vera Deborah, I am 66 & just had my second OHS. I was 57 for the first one so I've had a longer in between period than you. I know it's not what we wanted but mine went well & I'm rooting for yours to be the same. I'm 14 weeks out on this one & feeling just about normal again. Take care & let us know how you are doing.
