After a 1993 OHS to implant mechanical valve, I ended up with AV block. Now I need to replace my 4th pacemaker and my cardiologist suggested a Medtronic Micra AV2 wireless pacemaker. Looking for some feedback if anyone has had a wireless or lead-less pacemaker implanted in their heart. Thanks!

Today I celebrated my birthday with my husband at home enjoying our beautiful garden. One year ago, on my birthday, I was discharged from The Cleveland Clinic with a repaired ascending aorta aneurysm, a new aortic valve (On-X) and a shored-up tricuspid valve. The year has gone fast. There's been a few bumps along the way with fluid and Rx adjustments. My heart is with you all waiting or recovering from surgery.
Lori Phillips Congratulations! Thanks for giving hope on those of us awaiting surgery!
Emily Rowley A big Happy Birthday to you Elaine š Thinking of you š

Paul Wells Did you know there is a corralation between bicuspid Aortic valves and Aortic aneurysm. The gene responsible for the bicuspid valve is also responsible for the callogen in our vessels. We are more prone to aneurysms and stokes

This week I am 4 months past my fourth OHS. It's also 50 years since my first OHS! I called my mom (dad's in heaven) today and thanked her again for having the courage to find the right doctors and allow them to repair my very stenotic bicuspid aortic valve. See "my story" for more info.
For those that are facing surgery for the first time, I understand it's scary, but life is good on the other side. I'll keep you in my thoughts and prayers. Let me know if I can help.
I'm doing really good and have started seeing my computer clients again. I have my wonderful husband to thank for the last 3 surgery rounds. My Roc š.

Steven A Husted hi Elaine what a story so you have a onx valve now and are on coumadin when i was told i had a severe stenotic aortic valve that needed to be replaced i was scared to death and wanted to put it off as long as possible but my breathing got worse and i saw my cardiolgest and he sent me to the hospital right away for observation and a few days later i got my new bovine heart valve because of what i had read i first wanted the onx valve but i did not like the coumadin i was afraid of internal bleeding because i have recurring kidney stones in both kidneys several times a year and i bleed when they pass so my doctor recomended the bovine valve and now i am glad i chose the bovine valve because after my surgery i said it was not as bad as i thought it was going to be and i could handle a second surgery if i had to i hope and pray you have a great recovery your heart brother steve (popeye) you have given me hope love you heart sister

Elaine Cutri It sounds like it was a smart choice to go with the bovine valve. Glad to hear you're still doing your rehab work. Hope the kidney stones come less frequently. That would be the best. Right? Thanks for your note. Talk to you again soon Popeye!

Matt Hiler Thank you Elaine. I have read your story and it is very encouraging to me. It is also coincidental that I have also been referred to Dr Roselli at CC, who we will be meeting with in January. We have already been to multiple surgeons in Michigan, including UofM who are also very well respected. However multiple sources have said CC is the best and Dr Roselli is a wonderful cutting edge surgeon. Thank you again for reaching out

Elaine Cutri You're welcome Matt. Let me know if I can address any questions or concerns. I see Dr Roselli in December for my 6 month post surgery follow up.
My initial consult was last January, I was amazed how efficient that day went. I started in the morning with some tests and by the end of the day I knew how extensive the problem to my aorta was, had the right surgeon, a great support team and a good plan for the repair.

Melinda Queliz Wow....you give me so much faith and I admire you and respect you for sharing your stories with us. I am 32 and having my first (and hopefully my last OHS) in March and one of my fears was questioning if I can live a long life after heart surgery and well you have answered that one. Thank you.
