So, in the age of COVID, how are people doing cardiac rehab? I had my bicuspid aortic valve replaced in February (tissue valve), and just when I was ready for rehab, it closed down... I feel like I really missed out on a key part of my recovery.

Bryan Savage I've been going for the last two weeks. The staff wear masks and face shields. The patients also have to wear masks. They space out the exercise equipment and clean everything thoroughly after each use. So far there haven't been any Covid cases at the rehab facility I go to, so I guess it's working. Exercising in the mask is a little more difficult but beats not having the option of rehab.

I had to stop mine after waiting six month for it. I didn’t feel there was enough distance in the waiting room even with everyone wearing masks. The infection started to climbed up on my second week and admissions to the hospital where my rehab was at got very crowded so I decided to stop my rehab and exercise at home. It was too close for comfort. It was a disappointment.

Susan Lynn Julie - My cardiac rehab facility just reopened for new heart warriors. I'm waiting for the extended class to return. Whenever yours does reopen, you should go. The exercise and the people are inspiring! In the meantime, walk or cycle on your own at a pace that's comfortable for you. Good luck! ❤

Jennifer Winslow I had AVR replaced in February and my rehab closed amid COVID as well. I just proceeded to walk every day at home, did really light strength training and yoga. You tube is packed full of workouts geared towards almost any physicality. Good luck in your continued recovery.
