I had wonderful experience with Dr. Luis Castro and team at the Dignity Health Sequoia hospital in Redwood City CA. My surgery was in Sept 2024 when I had aortic valve replacement, replacement ascending aorta, and left atrial appendage excision. My total time in hospital was 6 days which got extended just a bit due to some atrial fibrilation on 2 occasions. I got a St Jude Medical/Abbott Epic Plus tissue valve. I just can’t say enough about Dr Castro and the team, it was a very good experience.

Struggling a bit with bio value types for initial AVR via SAVR. I hope to get 15 years with Edwards Magnaese or SJM Epic, and hope there are good valve in valve replacements using TAVR when next treatment needed. Comments welcome.

My recommendation is to do your due diligence, make a decision and then go with it and don't look back.
