Pre-op completed this morning...everything is in place for surgery on Tuesday. I feel less anxiety than I have since I found out my surgery was needed. All of the staff that I interacted with today @ Cedars-Sinai were so encouraging and compassionate and they also re confirmed my choice of hospital, procedure (DaVinci Robotic) and surgeon (Dr. Alfredo Trento). I am having mitral value repair and I am ready! On another note, I also just found out that my 2nd grandchild will be born before my surgery. Baby will be a little early but her doctors feel the baby is no longer getting nourishment. My daughter will be 38 weeks when they induce labor in the 4th! Best to all, Linda

Yesterday I did my 1st round of Autolocous blood donation. I was a bite surprised that my iron was low and I have been told now I will need to increase my level before 2nd donation in 2 weeks. I did do my normal Monday AM walk as well yesterday for 1 1/2 hours but admittedly it is becoming more difficult to do. I am hoping to be able to make my aerobics class tomorrow am before the break in class for 1 1/2 weeks. Fingers crossed. Still trying to keep my schedule and activities as normal as possible...

Tomorrow I will be heading down to do my 1st contribution for "banking my own blood". I am B- and I am glad I will do this "just in case". I found out the only donors for my blood type are B- and O-. Been doing my part to drink lots of extra water, eating protein, complex carbohydrates, and hopefully a few things pumped up my iron.
