I have no real family here in Az to help me and I live 2 hours away from the hospital, so I have to stay in a short term rehab facility. Anyone else out there that has done this?

Helen Daw My mom had a surgery two years ago and went to short term rehab. They took care of her so good until she felt strong enough to go back home. She did not want to burden us by living in with us, so she decided that short term rehab was the way to go. You can leave once you feel you can take care of yourself. I had my surgery two weeks ago and I don't need any help with anything except people to drive me to my doctors. It is not a bad idea to try it for a week or so. It is better to be safe than sorry.

My friend had knee surgery recently and went into short term rehab for 2 weeks. Her experience was very positive. Had a very safe, kind environment, staff to check on her regularly and very good meals.

Kim Shuba Yes, Dr. Kathuria told me the same thing. I did tell him he had my permission to cut them off, tie them up, tape them down, but he didn't go for it. I said- but you are right there. lol. Yesterday I was 3 weeks post op.

My doctor heard a murmur and sent me for an echocardiogram. Come to find out it showed a blocked aortic valve. Next step I went to a cardiologist he ordered a Angiogram and blockage was confirmed. I did some research and Dr Kathuria was highly recommended out of Phoenix. Met with him and he suggested a St. Jude valve. Surgery to be done at Boswell Banner in Peoria AZ. Any information about the valve, Dr and hospital would be appreciated.

Toni Z Welcome! You’ll find lots of info and support here. I too just had my valve replaced with st Jude and I can occasionally hear the squeak. So far it has not bothered me where I cannot sleep. Being one week post surgery, I’m trying to get used to all the meds, testing for INR, and coordination of follow up check ups. I’m hopeful that things will settle down as I heal.
