Well, it’s been six months and the frequent ocular migraines and visual disturbances are back. I have an MRI and MRA scheduled today. Next month I will see a retinal specialist and neurologist. Hopefully someone will find out what’s going on. I really thought I figured it out but guess I was wrong. I hope to get some answers soon.

I saw my Cardiologist today and everything is looking good. My surgery was 16 weeks ago and I think I turned the corner recently. I am feeling more like doing things and being with people. My Cardiac Rehab has helped so much. I go three times a week for an hour and my resting heart rate has gone from 88 to 60, so my poor old heart doesn’t have to work so hard to get the job done. I finally have my blood pressure stabilized and have had no AFIB or rapid heartbeat for a long time.
I saw an eye doctor yesterday and my eyes are very healthy though I have experienced some visual disturbances since my surgery. I have taken omeprazole (Prilosec) for years and have always had occasional ocular migraines but I now have them daily. However, I was out of them for four days and didn’t have any migraines. The day I took one, I had two migraines and two other eye disturbances. I stopped taking the omeprazole again and am now on day four with no migraines or blind spots. The Cardiologist has never heard that omeprazole and metoprolol were not compatible, but I am not convinced. Time will tell.
I’m feeling good, have more energy and look forward to that dreaded exercise three times a week. In addition, I also go to my community fitness center one or two times a week and will continue when my 36 sessions are done. Every day is a gift! 😊
