David C I am only 9 weeks out. I have a weird sensation in my ankles and feet when I lay down right now. I wouldn't say numb, but enough "different" to notice. I was planning on mentioning it in my next meeting with cardiologist. If you are really numb, it might be worth calling your primary care doctor. I'd want to at least put my mind at ease.

My primary care says its osteoarthritis. I'm not convinced but I haven't followed up. It hurts and I don't have as much strength in my hand as I think I should

Roni Reinhold I was never told that. I was told to try to take my warafin the same time each day. I chose to take mine in the evening before I go to bed. I've been taking warfarin since I had a mitral valve replacement 15 years ago. I test my own INR and report it every two weeks. I'm currently trying to prepare to leave for texas to have my aortic valve replacement on the 31st. Check with your coumadin clinic again about the 2 hrs lead time.

Conrad Skowronski Yes, my medical team told to take it on an empty stomach - to wait for a minimum of two hours after eating, but take at the same time every evening. So I take mine at 9pm every night and make sure dinner is before 7. I also take 5mg per day.
Rita Savelis I take mine with dinner.... no doctor ever suggested otherwise....

Hi everyone.
Thank you so much for the prayers and well wishes.lt feels good to be back.meaning able to share.
I had my op on 7/3/16. l was wheeled to theater around 8 hrs.around 14- 15hrs l woke up to see my two sisters waving.l managed to sqeez her hand and l was taken to icu.
When l woke up again l couldnt move or talk.l was not in pain.just numb and scared of the tubes in me.food tube in the nose big tube in my mouth en three tubes in my upper stomach.
My neck en hands.
Very good nurses messaging my back.l was expecting alot of pain but there is just tiredness.
After 3days in icu am taken back to my hospital room.told to excercise.lifting hands up and walking.after lifting my hands the pain in my shoulders stoped.
The worst time for me was when they had to remove the tubes.painfull.
Goodnews is the surgery was successful.no leakeges.no complications.l hav just been geting better everyday.echo and ecg were done.they are clear.am on warferim 6mg every other day.yesterday did blood test.its ok.am back at the hotel was discharged on 16/03/16.am going to be here untill am well enough to take the 11 hours flight back home.

Emily Rowley Hey, I read you had a food tube through your nose. I had a tube in my nose (blue one in my photo) & don't know what it was for? I thought it must've been another breathing tube since they said I wouldn't be allowed to eat all that day...👃
Take Care 😊

Christine Oliva Tabo, after you get past the first couple of weeks it really starts to pick up and you will see each day it gets better. There could be some bumps but you just went through a pretty big medical procedure so don't get discouraged. Physically do all what the doctor says and emotionally keep in touch with your loved ones/world. I know you will do great! God Blessings to you and your family. BTW- I also used this site for advice for recovery tips, things to get, etc., excellent source, A+. Just ask and people will share.
Waiting is the hardest part. You have a whole team of people rooting for you here! Best wishes!!
