Big day today....saw my surgeon and scheduled surgery for next week on the 10th. Oh my this is really happening. He feels confident that he can repair the mitral value and will see what the aortic valve looks like once he gets in there. If it does need replacing I'm about 99% thinking I'll go with the pig valve. Just don't like the thought of blood thinners the rest of my life with a mechanical valve. Now the planning begins for hospital stay and recovery at home. I'm so glad for the support and advice from this website!!!! Thank you all!!

Debra Gann Last week had something scary and rare happen to me. I had cardiac cath last Friday and during the procedure my coronary artery tore and had mild heart attack. Luckily they were able to repair it immediately placing three stints. But now I'm taking Plavix. Didn't really realize the severity of the situation until getting home later and reading about it. Spent the night in ICU. Guess God has other plans for me, They did say all my arteries are good and clear of Coronary disease. Hallelujah still rocking and Rollin.

Tina Rigney Thank you Wanda for the kind words. My head is spinning today trying to get things organized. I'm blessed that I don't have to worry about missing work for 5-6 weeks as my employer is great and I have plenty of medical leave to cover the time off. One less thing to worry about!!
