I want to know if anyone has had a problem with shortness of breathe after doing better for several months. I was able to work and not get short of breathe and then it changed. I always question myself thinking it could just be me. I did go to the cardiologist and they did two test, echo and treadmill. When I called to check the results they said the test didn't show any leaks and the valve looked good. I had my follow-up appt. on Friday the 18th and was told the pressure in or around my valve had changed/increased since the echo in July and it could be blood clot with the new valve. I go back for a C T scan on the 29th.
Has anyone experienced this and how did you do? I was told blood thinner would/could desolve the clot. I work hard in my yard, I mow and weed eat, I cut trees and limbs. I called the doctor office to see if I should not do these things, I'm waiting on a call back!
If anyone can given me info concerning this I would greatly appreciate it!
Thank you!

Cathleen Weed It does happen, and sudden onset shortness of breath is a classic sign. If a blood clot is found they will most likely put you on three months of blood thinners to start. I would avoid strenuous activity between now and your CT scan just to be safe.

My surgery was Nov. 30th. I came home on Sunday evening. The surgery went well. I am still having trouble sleeping at night and of course I can't seem to get comfortable. I'm a little confused about my scar. The doctor said it would
be glued together on the outside and maybe it was, it just doesn't look the way I thought it would. I also have a pucker at least that's what I would call it. I guess I just expected it to look better than it does.
I still have trouble taking a deep breathe. The doctor changed the fluid pill hoping that will help with breathing. I am using the voldyne to help my lungs but I have gotten it to the point I was before surgery. Should I be able to breathe that deep?
I am struggling with no energy. It's hard to exercise much, the weather here in TN is not good.
Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you

Rita Savelis It's still very very early for you, Yvonne. Your scar will change, your energy will come back.... but not tomorrow and not next week.
I suggest resting, and allowing your body to take the time it needs to get over this ordeal.
Cold weather can make it difficult to exercice. Walk a bit and rest a lot.
Take care.
Yvonne Toon Thank you! I guess I expected too much too soon!
