Ash, I’ve had Mitro Valve Prolapse with mild regurgitation for many years. Last spring my PCP noticed that my valve sounded much more pronounced. I had another Echocardiogram, then a TEE both of which confirmed severe regurgitation. I, too, was experiencing fatigue, no energy, heart palpitations and shortness of breath. I had MV repair on August 20 in Chicago.
I am 3 months post OHS. I feel much better than before surgery. My energy is improving and my chest discomfort and incision soreness is greatly reduced.
You will experience the same. Be sure and give yourself time to recover and heal. We are all unique, OHS is a big surgery, and we all recover and heal differently. My recovery was slower than I expected and I just had to embrace each day.
I will be praying for your surgery Monday and for recovery in the days to follow.
Dan Baltazor Prayers for your surgery today. You got this!!
