Dorothea Jenkins I had mine in Feb and it was was successful but my platelets was 53 when discharged and now 39. I went to a hemotologist and said he hopes it goes away by itself but will monitor it.
Bob Le Vaillant Thanks, Fidel, I am relieved that the waiting is almost over. Very best wishes to you and yours....

Hi Bob; Wishing you well with your upcoming surgery. I am 76, and have aorta stenosis, my operation is March 20, 2025. I have an enlarged heart and do need the regular open heart surgery. I was hoping for a TAVI, so much less evasive, but Dr's. said no. My husband has dementia and congestive heart failure and I am his only caregiver. I wanted to send you happy, cheerful thoughts regarding your surgery. We can do this. So thankful we live in a day and age where doctors are so advanced and we can live longer lives. Wishing you a wonderful life, may it be a healthy one.

Bob Le Vaillant Hello, Sue, thank you for your kind and thoughtful comment. And I wish you the very best for your operation. I can understand your concern for your husband. I am carer, too, for adopted adult twins with learning disabilities. We also have a lovely Ukrainian mother and her little boy living with us, with a baby due next month. Oh, and a Cocker Spaniel who will be wondering where I am! Take heart, Sue. I am sure you will be in the very best hands, and will be back with your family soonest... Bob x

Sue Lambkin Thank-you Bob. Not nice for any of us to go through aorta surgery, but nice to know we can reach out to others. I mentioned, I have family in Sheerness, Kent England. My Mom was from Sheeress and her family stayed there when Mom moved to Canada in the 1940's. My husband and I went to Sheerness and Oxford for our 50th anniversary 8 years ago. I hated coming home, such beautiful country. Wishing you and I successful surgeries, 2 days apart and uncomplicated recovery. ❤️Sue

Bob Le Vaillant I can't believe how well I feel, Sue. Op Tuesday morning, home Wednesday evening. And have walked the dog twice along the seafront! TAVI is indeed a miracle. All I have is a fairly impressive bruise to prove I had it! If you come to Sheerness again, Deal isn't far along the coast. Drop by for a cup of tea (or something stronger). I do hope you recover swiftly. bob@levaillantowen.com
