Hello Brian, I read your post on John Wyatt's postponed surgery date. You mentioned you had your aorta replaced passed the arch. I have an ascending aortic aneurysm which will need repair including part of the arch. My aortic valve is functioning ok so will not be touched. Was wondering if you would be willing to give me more information on the arch repair as I have not come across cases involving arch repair from this community.

Brian Craig Sue it will be an open chest surgery Im sure. They will remove the aorta that its affected and replace it with a graft that is sewn into place. that is good news on the valve though which means no follow up surgery in the future. Just listen to your team and you will be on your way to getting back to your life without all the stress. My first 2 weeks was bad but then I turned the corner and was feeling pretty normal after 4 weeks. feel free to contact me any time. best wishes
Sue Tom Brian, thank you so much for your response. I appreciate the information.
