Hi Dominick! I, also, have a valve (mitral) that is seriously leaking from a previous fix and can relate to the anxiety of returning to the table for a repair of the repair. Every surgery & recovery is different, so rather than expect the same experience, I'm trying my best to stay in the present. Some things may be way easier this time.
On a side note, I think we both went to West Hempstead High! Is that possible?! Your name is so familiar to me. I was only there for freshman year 1970-71 (I lived in Island Park and we didn't have a HS) and then we moved and I went to Baldwin HS until graduation.

Sharon Behl Small world! As far as next steps for you, you are asking the right questions. I didn't accept that my only option was a mitral valve replacement and found the "guru" of mitral valve re-repairs on this website. Keep asking questions and best of luck with whatever you decide!
