Dorothea Mansdorfer Thank you for your comment, it helped relieve some of my anxiety. I know Dr. Trento and his team are the best out there but it's still very scary. I will be glad to get this over and get on with life. I have a bunch of grandbabies and a couple more on the way so need to get back to norm quick :) Dr. Trento said I'd be in the hospital 5 days. Was that your experience? I was hoping with the robotic approach the stay would be shorter.

Dylan Kempers I was in the hospital for 6 days. The day I was discharged, I had an afib episode back at home, so I had to be admitted again that same day. The second stay lasted 2 days. The advantage of robotics is that they don’t have to cut open your sternum, but the rest is the same. From my experience, the term “minimally invasive” is misleading, because it’s still an OHS. In any case, you are going to do fantastic!!

Hi Dorothea, I had a mitral valve repair this past March. I told all my doctors and surgeon that I was "asymptomatic", but I now realize I was not. My heart no longer pounds against my chest at high heart rates of 130ish and higher. Gotta love the human mind's ability to adapt!
