Hi Gary I was active and my surgery was pushed up as well. The best part is when you trust your doctor and feel comfortable. It’s a lot to take in but you seem to have a great attitude. Being active prior helps. I wasn’t able to read through all the advice but this group has outstanding support and answers. It’s a saving grace for me in my recovery. I didn’t even know about this website until after . I think your surgery is tomorrow so best of luck . Put stuff down with in reach no lifting up your arms , recliner chair and most important advice don’t watch Informercials they start making sense if you can’t sleep. I was able to walk when I got home just learn how to ask for help and rest when you need to. Be your own advocate. You won’t be able to drive so line up rides . Everybody’s journey is different so listen to your body and it’s okay to slow down while healing

Gary Wood Thanks Suzette. It was supposed to be tomorrow but got pushed back to September 3rd. Another 10 days of waiting. My wife will be my chauffer until I'm cleared to drive. I'm just ready to get it in the rear view mirror and back on my feet so I can get back to work. Fortunately, my company has very generous Short Term Disability coverage, which will keep me at 100% pay as if I were still working as well as the benefits. God is good...

Suzette Schear Gives you more time to prepare, thank goodness for your wife it’s called marriage. Lol. Glad she got a break on her having to have surgeries, I’ve had knee ones. you will need to be a backseat driver. It will help keep you safe. You’ll have to learn to ask for help and understand it’s temporary. I thought I was going to work while in the hospital . So naive. I ended up back on computer after 3 weeks my brain fog from meds wasn’t clear for me until them. My company has been generous and I was stubborn took my health and welling being days in stead of disability. I had surgery feb 23 and started back into city 5/23. I believe in God and he has been good to me in this journey and I had learned a lot
