Way to go Gordon ! That is great. I am supposed to run/walk my first 5k on June5th/16 for the ""HEART&STROKE"" here in Toronto. Do you mind if i ask you when is it that you had your surgery? I had mine OHS/AVR in Nov./15 and doing my rehab right now. Happy running and lots of good health.
The best of luck tomorrow! I hope you are back on your feet soon. Just remember to take your time for your recovery. 💝

Gordon Currie Terry Syvertsen replied in one of my posting where I stated that a patient who has been to a surgeon who does perform minimally invasive surgery has been done a disservice.
I think I may not have made myself clear. Of course a patient has to be a candidate for minimally invasive surgery, but to if one is and is referred to a surgeon who only does Stemotomy and is that patient goes with the surgeon it is needless pain and drawn out recovery time.
My research here had educated to this so I kept on looking and found
(by luck...one of those friend of a friend referrals) Dr. Morrison. Dr. Morrison operates using both Sternotomy and minimally invasive procedures and lucky for me I was a candidate for the minimally invasive.
Hope you are feeling better...and thank you for your kind words.

Hi Gordon. My husband is in a very similar situation to you. No symptoms, fit and well and active but with severe mitral valve regurgitation. He is having his surgery on the 4th of August in Cambridge, England. I am hoping he will return to his normal level of activity after the surgery too. I wish you luck.
