Joe Cooper Hi Kathleen. On my surgeons recommendation, I'm having a tissue valve. (bovine) I'll avoid having to take blood thinners...Just a baby asprin daily. Best of luck to Hector. My surgery is March 4. I'll post how it goes.

Well Joe you are in good hands here. I had the same heart valve and aneurysm you have. My surgery was a Bentall procedure. I was blessed with a very experienced and amazing surgeon, Dr. Starnes. I am over a year post op. Please continue to write, ask questions, share your thoughts and fears etc., our heart warriors on this site are more than willing to answer and encourage you and provide whatever information they can. Adam keeps us very informed of any new procedures available to people having heart valve issues. On the right top side of this site you can also find a wealth of information that Adam posts for us.
