Dear Joseph! Best wishes for your valve replacement surgery and a very good fast recovery! My active, always physically hard working, fairly fit husband (64) has also been diagnosed with the same issue 2 weeks ago and he will be getting his Catheter test next Friday. We were told so far that he also needs this surgery. Not sure yet which type. So I feel for you and really wishing the very best for you!!!

Joseph Horowitz Hi all…it’s Saturday and I was released from the hospital today. The surgery itself went very well and I am in recovery. First night had a bad reaction to the anasthesia (never happened before) and was throwing up bile for hours until they found the right medicine to stop the reaction. Other than that, everyone on the unit commented on how good I looked day 2 and I was able to walk the entire floor with a walker Friday and without the help of one today. Other than a very weird pinching pain in my leg when I walk (hopefully to be gone by the follow up appt. Friday) it’s all expected aches pains and bruises along with quite the cocktail of medications for a bit. I’ll update more as I progress.
