Hello Madlyn, That's awful! So sorry for the extra pain & discomfort you must be experiencing! Just for clarification, is the fluid in your lungs from an infection (pneumonia) or is it from a pneumo-thorax (collapsed lung)? My mitral valve repair was 12/26/14 & I had a small pneumo-thorax from the surgery. Thankfully, they didn't have to put a chest tube in to fully dilate my left lung; it resolved on it's own once I got home. I'm assuming you're in the hospital for these procedures? What does your doctor say about what's causing this problem? Sorry for so many questions.... I'll be thinking of you & sending good wishes your way for a speedy recovery. Take care, Jenni
