Hi Moussa I had aortic valve replacement surgery (cow) in June, and blood pressures gone up. I was taking beta blockers and ACE inhibitors. Gave up the beta blockers as made me feel too tired. I can't get to see a cardiologist in the UK with Covid etc. I bought a wrist-type BP monitor which gave mis readings, now got an expensive upper arm one which is approved. Average is 13/8 at night and less in the morning. I never feel dizzy any more, like before the op, but sometimes my heart really feels like it's pounding. I wish I could talk to a cardiologist! Hello Moussa, There might indeed be room in the weightlifting world for you to break records. Or maybe not. You're smart to ask around, and to look around before diving back into strenuous workouts. It is inspiring to learn about athletes who are able to come back after heart surgeries. As for hearing contradictory advice from surgeons, cardiologists, and rehab staff, maybe we just have to accept that that is how the world functions, i.e. contradictions abound! The final decision on your resumption of activity will rest with you. Nonetheless, listen carefully to medical staff even if their messages aren't always what we really want to hear. I'm glad to get a sense that you're recovering well. Keep it up!

You asked about why the doc did not offer the Ross procedure to you in your preoperative workup. I am guessing that was because the Ross procedure is a much more technically difficult and demanding surgery, and not all surgeons offer it.
