Best wishes for your surgery tomorrow. I just had my Trifecta Valve replaced on Dec 12 and was not eligible for TAVR either. I found that having been through this before was a big plus (if there is such a thing with AVR). Last time, pain, this time no pain. Hope yours does the same.

Patricia Higgins Sue, thank you so much! Happy New Year! I'm thinking of you and your upcoming surgery. I will be in recovery in less than 48 hours. I had aortic valve replacement open heart surgery in 2015 and I'm hoping that experience will help me get through this one a bit easier. What a way to start the New Year!

As hard as it is, just try to treat today and tmrw as any other day—drink some nice tea, take a bubble bath, get a good night’s sleep, enjoy some good healthy food…do you have people there to help you in your recovery? I am praying that God remove any anxiety, that he quiet your mind, and give you his peace right through the next 48 hours and beyond! Patricia Higgins No. I went to Houston last time. Loved my surgeon but he has since retired. This time I'm only going about 40 miles to Seattle. I have lots of confidence in Dr Burke and his team.
