Hi Tracy. Just noticed you are Canadian...and so am I... born in Montreal, but now live in California. My son, who is also your age, now lives in Colorado with his wife, and was also born in Montreal. I also lived in Toronto for 3 years in the 70's.
I read your story, and I wish you all the best with your recovery. Enjoying your blog and your posts! you've got the right idea of keeping things light :o) A great attitude is important and I believe very helpful towards a successful recovery. I'm 63 yrs old and have had 2 heart surgeries, the last one was 6.5 weeks ago. Doing really well, walked 2 miles almost daily....I can't believe it. I'm still struggling a bit with sleep. I have been sleeping on a wedge for almost 8 yrs. but sometimes find myself waking up and the wedge is not beneath me and I am sleeping flat...so go figure! After my sternum is completely healed, I will try to sleep on one pillow....a soft cushy pillow.
Take one day at a time, and think of it as another heart journey. I wish you all the best for a very speedy recovery......... my regards to Sir Wilbur Valveington!

tracy craig Hi Lily,
Thank you so much for your note and lovely, kind words! I moved to Toronto in 2004 and absolutely love it here in Canada. Such a great city/place to live :)
I am finding that writing the blog is truly a great outlet and really helps the process. I actually slept in bed - propped on pillows - for the first time last night. It was pretty amazing after 2+ weeks on the rented recliner that I had been using :)

Cheryl Batzing Tracy, I also read your blog tonight...to hear what happened earlier today. I'm so sorry--that's crap! I had something similarly crappy happen to me the morning of surgery...in fact, two crappy things. Big crappy things. Believe me I'm noting it on that ever important survey I hear about that hospitals are graded on, like that will make any good. ANYWAY, I totally understand the roller coaster of emotions that them changing times around does to you/changing dates, etc. And I'm just so sorry that happened. I pray you are on schedule perfectly at 6am in the morning! 6 1/2 hours from now! And that you will then have this all behind you!
Joan Napier Tracy, Add my prayers for a very successful surgery tomorrow.
