First post-op short run... followed by 2 miles of brisk walking.
I felt like a noob the whole way but it was good to test it out.
I felt like it was harder to manage my breathing today than before the surgery but I'm only 5 weeks post-op. I know I need to pace myself. I didn't really spend time stretching out before which I know was part of my sluggishness but I was too excited to be released to push myself a little harder than the brisk walks.
Anyway, just putting this out there...

Allen Carkner Nice to hear you're able to jog a bit. Try not to over do it and just push it to the point rehab or doctor suggests especially early on.
Grace Mason I would be happy to feel like a noob everyday if I could run a mile with that time
Rose Madura Way to go Andy. You are doing great! I'm not sure what a noob is by I'm probably one.

Andy Teel So yeah, I did start back a little too early and I have listened to you all and you good advice to take it a bit slower. I was not recommended to Cardiac Rehab for a few reasons so the timelines on getting back to running were a bit blurry. I will have a better understanding tomorrow. I meet with my Cardiologist and have a Echo scheduled as well...

Andy Teel You got this Jason. The surgery you never even knew it happened aside from waking up with all the things stuck to you. The chest tube for minimal is the toughest thing I dealt with… I had to work with the staff to get the pain under control but we got there. And after a couple of days it comes out and you feel much improved. Now I have to take it slow and let my body heal.

Janet Roberson It's a scary thought because the outcome is unsure. Of course, if you drive to the store the outcome of the trip is unsure, too! Just know that you are doing the right thing and getting surgery done before your symptoms increase. Best of luck!
Grace Mason That does bring some perspective..prayers for your team and you on Tuesday.

Pamela Gregory Yes, seeing your name on the right side of this site was shocking even though I knew it was going to happen, checking into the hospital, and lots of other things. As Janet said, this surgery will save your life! It is scary but the odds are definitely in your favor for a great outcome. Sending my best thoughts and prayers to you for peacefulness, a smooth surgery, and an uneventful recovery
