Question for everyone, I don't remember my previous scars hurting as much as this one. I am almost 4 months post op and it still hurts bad when things rub up against the top part. Which seems to be a keloid scar. Does this go away? Will it hurt forever?

Marie Myers The neck IV is a central line that can be 100% counted on during the surgery for the administration of important drugs like heparin just prior to bypass. The intravenous heparin is what keeps your blood from clotting while you are on bypass. It can also accommodate large amounts of IV fluids as needed throughout the surgery. A peripheral line (in your arm) could infiltrate, and is not as secure as a central (neck) line.
