Joseph Heinzmann Nine weeks ago, could not run for 90 seconds without getting out of breath.
Just "graduated" from the Couch to 5k program this morning. Still have more road to run but I ran for thirty consecutive minutes (at old man pace) today.
Next goal: three miles in 36 minutes (don't laugh).
Achievement unlocked. 16.0 a month after surgery, now 26.1. Finally out of the "low" range.

Joseph Heinzmann Been looking to get in to the below average range for a while. Starting running with walks in between. 90 second runs this week.
Also learning that your theoretical maximum heart rate is just that, theoretical. I get above it, can breathe during it, and recover coming out of the run portion. Maybe it's going well.

Joseph Heinzmann I think it was over two hours, around 2.5+ if I recall correctly. Because both leaflets needed attention it took a little longer than a typical robotic repair but not too much longer.

Susan Lynn Joseph - That was fast! That's about the same amount of time as other more invasive mv repair procedures. Back in 2017, I was told full robotic could be almost twice as long as minimally invasive entry or mini-sternotomy. I didn't want that much time on bypass, so I eliminated it as an option.
Clearly, the process has been perfected and performed in record time! Good for you! ❤
Dylan Kempers Amazing video, Joseph! Thanks for sharing! Who did the narration?
Dylan Kempers Wow, he operates AND records the narration afterwards! What a guy!

Joseph Heinzmann Wouldn't do this on Coumadin, that's for sure. There are a few narrow points with more than a few feet to the bottom if things don't go well so I'm super careful. Wouldn't walk this if the ground was even just a little damp.
