Joey Hardee Wow, Joshua. That's fantastic. I guess mitral repair is a quicker recovery than aortic replacement LOL. They didn't even give me the Cardiac rehab thumbs up til I was a month out. Thankfully, I only want to run a 5K in November. A half in October.....wow! That's awesome. You are doing great!

Joshua Nowack Way to run Joey! And thanks for your note Mike. The min invasive option is pretty clutch. It was more about that than mitral repair. I was in decent shape prior to diagnosis so it should make for a somewhat easier recovery. Everything I do will be in direct supervision of the rehab team and my cardiologist. But goals are helpful.

Tee Ad Josh, I had mitral, tricuspid, and aortic valves repaired, plus a maze procedure, in January. I was wishing I could have robotic, but my heart was too messed up. Nevertheless, 6 months later I'm enjoying walking, working, and gradually increasing my endurance and strength. Question--how did Heart Month help you get diagnosed? Just coincidentally, I work for a company that promotes Heart Month and I'm so excited to hear from folks who it helps! I found out I had heart problems in a really sad way: my older brother died of cardiac arrest at age 41. His doc said my family better all get tested, and sure enough three out of 5 of us had heart problems. Now I tell people, if you have a murmur, get it checked and be followed by a cardiologist!
