Spent my second-to-last weekend before surgery camping in the Hoh Rainforest on the Olympic Peninsula and caught the sunset over the Pacific with a fire and good company. Feels pretty great to be alive!

Corey Sines I vacationed in the Pacific Northwest (Seattle, lakes, mountains, Olympic National Park / Mounts, Hoh Rainforest, Washington coast, Forks (lol wife liked Twilight books) in 2009 before my first surgery. It is one of the best locations in the entire country. So much variety and diversity there and I love the moderate temperatures. If I ever move, and chose where to go, it would be near the top of my list!

Nancy Lewis That is so very beautiful. What a wonderful way to spend the weekend. You are right, it is great to be alive. And we are going to be the first to announce that on the other side of this surgery!
Trying to take a dip in beautiful Lake Washington as often as I can in these next 3 weeks before surgery. Any other swimmers out there?

Lilly Black Maeve, I've swam all my life. After my first surgery, I swam daily, 30 minutes of laps each day. I loved it....it's so peaceful, a great stress reliever, and the best thing about it is that it is excellent cardio, and a great way to achieve cardio rehab post surgery. Today, I don't swim as much because I moved elsewhere. There is a swimming pool at my community but laps are basically swimming around in circles.....a totally different experience. I walk a lot more now instead of swim. I am hoping to go back soon once I find an Olympic size pool. I live quite near the pacific ocean, which I absolutely love to walk on the coast line, whale watch, and simply enjoy the beauty and serenity. But something about not knowing what lies beneath is not appealing to me at my age to go swimming in the ocean. Good luck for your surgery! :o)
