Pamela Belmore Hi everyone! I hope you are all doing well! I’m going to have my second aortic valve replacement soon and I’m looking for advice and insight from second time open heart surgery people. A Tavr is not as good an option for me because my first valve is a small cow valve so the Tavr would not function at 100%. At this point, I’m leaning towards another cow valve. Any thoughts ?

Civita Fahey Hi Pamela welcome to the site. I am only 4 years into my valve but so happy to hear from someone who had a cow valve for 16 years! gives us all hope.. I'm sure that you will do great with the second one, as things have changed even more in 16 years since your first OHS. I look forward myself to hearing from people who have had their second. Pamela Belmore Thank you all for your response! It means a lot to me. This time round, a am alone, a widow, and I’m terrified. I have a daughter but she is very busy with a full time job and 3 kids. I won’t get a lot of support through this. It will be great to have this site to go to.
