About Me (In My Own Words)
I am 54 years old and first learned I had a murmur about 3 years ago. It has worsened over the last 3 years and my family doc sent me for my 3rd echo in March. It showed it become very severe. I had my TEE on June 8, 2021 when it was confirmed that my mitral valve needed either a repair or replacement. I am worried about the recovery from the surgery because I have 2 teenagers and I don't want to miss too much of the day-to-day with them. My husband will be a big help, I hope. EDIT: surgery canceled because of no ICU bed and rescheduled (hopeful) to September 30th. Fingers crossed.
