About Me (In My Own Words)
I was diagnosed at 9 years old with murmur and echo showed some mitral valve prolapse. I have lived a normal, active life, have run 2 half marathons, played sports most of my life. Five years ago the valve had worsened and the cardiologist told me it would need to be replaced in 5 years. Fast forward to today and the valve on TEE has severe prolapse, severe regurgitation, left atrial dilation and reverse flow into pulmonary veins. Yuck. So nervous!! The anxiety is beyond debilitating at times. I am a single mom and I work full time. I am simply freaking out about this.
