I did a pig's valve replacement in 2014 and it has lasted 9 years!!
I started to have symptoms in March of 2023: shortness of breath, weight gain (which was caused by water retention) and now I have some wheeze in my lungs.
I did my echo in Aug 2023 and my cardiologist told me to see the surgeon. I just spoke to my surgeon on Aug 21 and was just told that I have I will have to do a two valve replacement. I'm still processing this info and the ramification of what will happen to after the surgery. Will I be the same? Will I need a 3rd one?
I think I went in thinking that it was just the Aortic Valve that had issues but my Mitra valve was also showing issues. After watch several Youtube videos (thank you for this site), I have a better idea of what the valves do. I think I will start writing down my journalling here..
