So hard to be dependent. For all the little things. Baby steps for sure.

Date is set for July 12. Three weeks away!
I will take one week to prepare, and one week vacationing with my family. The week of, maybe learn to meditate to keep the fear monster away.
I am so grateful for this website and all of you heart valve brothers and sisters. So comforting to know that I am not alone.

Dan Vechiola Hey Barbara! Thanks for the info. I am glad you were able to find your hospital and surgeon and valve. One step at a time in this journey. I like those benefits of the Resilia valve as well. This is scarey stuff and I will be right behind you. I needed to get clearance form a Hematologist (reasons in My story) and my next step is an appointment with my cardiologist next Friday. I will be definitely bring up the Resilia valve. I was supposed to go mechanical but after my horrible experience with blood thinners I will be changing that direction.
On a side note, this morning I watched the video of Paul McCartney Carpool Karaoke with James Corden. During Carpool Karaoke, Paul McCartney talked about when he was starting out and going through some tough times he had a dream of his deceased mother visiting him and she simply said to him "Let It Be." Today because of what is ahead for me that song has a whole new meaning.
Here is a link to the video. Aside from the Let It Be moment it is a great watch! Hope you enjoy if you haven't seen it yet.

Words of Wisdom indeed! Good luck to you on the 25th! It is a giant step in the journey, when you are comfortable with the direction.
I don't know if I mentioned it, but I emailed Edwards directly from their web site, I gave them the areas that I would travel to and they sent me a list of the hospitals that had it in stock..
All the best to you and your beautiful family.

Susan Killian Wishing you well for your surgery. I am 64 and had OHS with Full Sternotomy 12 weeks ago and am feeling fantastic. They repaired my mitral valve with a ring and 8 new chords. Recovery with the full was not bad at all so I hope you the best with yours.
Bonnie Stone-Hope Hi Barbara,
