Steven Kantor David, I had AVR back in May 2012. I've run 2 10K races since that time. I have allowed the amazing recovery to let me take it for granted at times so I've gained too much weight back . Glad to hear another success story from you and wish you well.

I am 52 and had an aortic valve replacement on December 5th,2013.
Surgery went well, rehab went well, and back to work in 12 weeks.
I am trying to get back into playing basketball and running but struggling a bit. I can ride a stationary bike for 40 minutes and feel fine until I increase the work load (Tension).
I try to play basketball or jog. I get winded very quickly, Slightly dizzy, and have to stop and walk. Also no energy in my legs.
Also when I walk up a flight of stairs my leg muscles get fatigued and ache and I become winded.
Anybody else have these symptoms after surgery?
Thanks,
David
