Has anyone experienced edema after their TAVR procedure? I thought that would decrease after the procedure but it seems to have gotten worse than before on my mom. She ended up with cellulitis on New Year's Day, 2 months after her replacement. She's on a low dose diuretic ands getting better and her valve seems to be working well but I expected no more swelling. She says she sits with her legs elevated, but I'm not there to see it. Other than that, she's doing well thank God. She's even been cooking and baking and she hasn't done that in years! Thank you in advance.

Hi everyone. Tomorrow my 90 year old mother will be having the TAVR procedure and I ask that if you believe in the power of prayer, that you say a little prayer for my mom, Sylvia. While undergoing all of the preliminary testing, a small mass was found on her lung which is most likely cancer. It seems to be slow growing so hopefully she will have a few more good years with her new valve. Thank you all in advance.

Hi everyone. I heard about this site from a friend who had a mitral valve repair. I am actually on here to learn more information for my 90 year old mom. She has aortic stenosis and we have been doing some of the preliminary testing for TAVR. I would like to ask the community, if I may, if any of you had some gastrointestinal issues after having the intravenous contrast for an angiogram, CT Scan or the actual TAVR procedure. I am trying to figure out if that is what happened to my mom or if we have been dealing with something else. My other theory is that she is very nervous about the tests and the procedure. I have had to postpone testing several times due to her having diarrhea. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. She will be having the procedure, if we ever get to that point, at Hartford Hospital in CT. I have done quite a bit of research on this procedure, watched a live procedure being done and have asked the TAVR team assigned to my mom a lot of questions. No one can help with the diarrhea question. I have also researched effects of intravenous contrast and found that diarrhea can be a side effect. I keep getting told that it's not. Everyone reacts differently to different medications, etc. I just wondered if anyone else had this issue.
