Hello everyone! I found this site back in Dec 2024 (thank you Adam, it's awesome), when I found out that my bicuspid valve is extremely leaky. Growing up, I didn't know I had a bicuspid valve and didn't find out until 2018. All was great until Dec, when I found out that my valve is regurgitating and I also have an aneurysm starting. I am going in for surgery at Northwestern Memorial on Monday, March 24th. Dr Mehta will try to repair my valve and if he can't repair it, I will have the Ross procedure done. I am extremely nervous and not looking forward to the healing process, but know I'm in good hands. Excited to get back to running and jump roping at 51 I'm very active.. praying all goes well.
Chris Charbs I'm sure it will all go well! Good luck!

Jayne Perkins I had a bicupsid aortic valve. And I was told in 2014 it was with stenosis. I had a different doctor say later they couldn't tell for sure. When I had my minithoracotomy to replace my aortic valve in October 22nd of last year I found out it was definitely a bicupsid aortic valve. I am sure all will go well.

Anyways, you are in great hands with Dr. Mehta. He has helped many patients in our community. I'll post an educational video we did together. ... Read more
