Meredith Bray Yes ma'am! My surgery was 4 years ago. I've had 2 root canals, an extraction, and an implant. My DDS is awesome - he's aware of heart valves and is very proactive about pre-medicating. If he or his staff think I might not be telling the truth about taking my meds, they ask me to take another. He prescribed my 2000 mg amoxicillin for 10 days surround my extraction. It went well - uneventful, and my implant is healthy. I had the tooth removed because after a root canal we just couldn't beat the infection. And I don't play with my teeth - if they're not healthy, they're OUTTA HERE! :)

Laura Shepherd The shortness of breath I can relate. I didn't have it prior to aortic valve replacement. It is scary because even upon stopping I have trouble recovering my breath. My surgery was on 10/13/17. I've been told it will get better and it has somewhat not not enough to say I've returned to normal. No chest pain. Make sure you let your Dr know about chest pain. Is it in scar area or pressure? I wish you well and hang in here (the site).
