Had my one year check up on Monday. Heart valves are working beautifully. My lungs are looking better with every checkup. No sign of cancer, Next checks, one year for the heart and six months for the lungs. I am so grateful for Dr. Miller, Dr. Lui and Stanford University Hospital for all the great care and for my life.

Here I am 4 month after the big day. Doing well. Wish fixing my heart would have fixed all the rest of my body. Have been working in my yard and darn, the muscles still ache. Looking forward to appointment next month to see what the Echo and CAT scan show. Not worried about my heart, I feel great. Still have concerns with the cancer but time only will tell on that one.

Had pre-surgery appointments today. My surgery will be the morning of January 15. at Stanford Medical center, Stanford CA. Aortic valve replacement, Mitral valve repair or replacement, and cancer in my left lung. Not worried about the surgery as the doctor and the facility is one of the best. My procedure is risky and complicated but I'm going for it. Wish me luck.

Kathy Turner Found the cancer in the first CT scan in prep for the heart surgery. It is in the very beginning stages so hopefully it will be stopped short in its tracks. Feel very positive about that part. Still trying to get my mind around the heart valve thing. I'm not really into pain.

Rita Savelis I don't know what kind of information you want. I had double valve replacement (aortic and mitral) in 2015 and the tricuspid repaired, followed by a pacemaker 2 weeks later. If Stanford has been recommended I would think there are surgeons there who are specialised in double valve surgeries who can answer your questions as well.

Marjorie Murphy I had my mitral valve and aortic valve replaced with tissue valves at Mayo Clinic on September 7. This was my 2nd OHS. I had my mitral valve repaired in 2005. I was pretty stressed at the thought of having two valves replaced at 76 years of age. Everything went well. I am home now recovering. I would say be comfortable with your surgeon If you will need two new valves replaced You will be fine. Best of lick.
