Go in to my cardiologist to review my echo tomorrow 4 months out from mitral valve repair. There was a 6 week delay from Pailliary rupture to surgery due to failure to diagnose. Ejection Fraction was 31% at echo post surgery. Learn new numbers tomorrow. Was a runner, now just walking and I have issues with fatigue ... let's see what tomorrow brings.

Thomas Brusstar My mitral valve had a flail leaflet, and that was misdiagnosed/ undiagnosed for about 10 months. Apparently pneumonia is a common misdiagnosis, because of the shortness of breath and coughing. Finally got mine repaired, and my heart Re-modeled itself somewhat. Hopefully you’ll see the size of your left atrium recovered back toward normal. Three and a half years out and my repair is still great.

Richard Munson The important thing is to not give up. Yes, you might need to sacrifice a few things but you can replace them with other things. Sodium is not good even for non ohs folks, replace strenuous exercise with less strenuous, maybe walk not run and enjoy the scenery I am almost a year out and my second echo showed a improved ventricle, so all is not lost.
