Hi everybody! Well it's been 2 weeks today since by AVR. I am so happy to be on "the other side" and not waiting for the surgery date! Everything went smoothly with surgery. The cardiac cath didn't show any problems other than my valve problem. I spent 2.5 days in ICU, then on to the step down unit. I went home on post op day 6. I stayed the extra day because I was having some oxygen saturation problems and had a pleural effusion (which I am told is quite common after heart surgery). The first few nights at home were a challenge but everyday gets a little easier now. I walked about 1/3 mile today and have started doing some light housework. Thanks for everybody's kind words and support!
