* Had CAT scan of torso to assess aorta, main arteries, etc.
* Met with Dr. Scott Lilly for evaluation of TAVR (Trans Arterial Valve Replacement).
- Dr. Lilly reinforced that a valve replacement was needed now & not several months from now.
- TAVR won't work since my aortic valve is bicuspid, and therefore, an oblong opening rather than circular necessary for TAVR.
* Met with Dr, Asvin Ganapathi.
- Very nice and reassuring discussion with all questions addressed.
- Was interested in my background of Aero/Astro Engineering and graduate studies in biomedical engineering including cardiovascular fluid mechanics. His undergraduate degree was also Aero/Astro Engineering! Medical school at Case Western & residency at Duke.

Alexander Casler TAVR and Bicuspid valves are interesting. I've had a couple surgeons and Cardiologists tell me that TAVR is perfectly viable despite the more oblong shape. In fact I have a bicuspid valve and my cardiologist offered TAVR as a solution.
But I've seen the complete opposite being mentioned as well, wonder why that is.
