Hi. A lot of us rented/bought a recliner . I did not, but it is a good idea to have one. “Just in case”. As far as stairs go. I live in a split level house ( 5 stairs). I had to take one step at a time , hold the railings, It took maybe 2 weeks to feel comfortable going up the stairs. Before I was released from my hospital I was shown how to use the stairs. Also I found that a shower chair came in handy . I received the same heart valve as you are planning and am very happy with it ( surgery 6 months ago)
