In exactly 24 hours i will be surrendering myself to an amazing surgeon for him to fix my broken heart! The outpouring of support is overwhelming and has affected me deeply! People have asked what they can do so here is my favor..please pray and ask others to pray at 730 ARIZONA time Tuesday morning! God will here these prayers! I am strong..I am a warrior and God is walking this with me! I am blessed for amazing friends, an amazing work team and a family that I am closer to because of this! I love you all! Today is preop testing and a blessing with some very close people tonight and then holding my hubby tight! Crazy this moment I have prepared for is here...

I am 45 years old and am facing Aortic Valve Surgery right after the first of the year. I have a son with special needs, am engaged to my soul mate and run a company that helps adults and children with disabilities. I feel like I am just at the beginning of my life. I am a fighter and can get through this, but it is scary! I have researched everything and have interviewed 3 surgeons in the Phoenix area and am considering at the fore front the On-X valve which requires less Coumadin. First, I would like prayers and support...second I would like to meet people especially in the Phoenix area who have gone through valve replacements and third - stories of their valve replacements and if any have had the On-X. David Augustus Welcome to our communiity Tracy. I had my aortic valve along with my root replaced up to the ascending arch. I'm 50 years young and II opted for a mechanical valve as I didn't want to go through another surgery in my 60s or 70s. I take coumadin daily with no limitations (you can see on my page). You must find a doctor you absolutely trust and with support from the website, you will do great. If you have questions, ask away.

Peggy Pauley Hi Tracy - your surgery is the day before mine I will be praying for God to give you complete peace as you are wheeled into surgery. I know how
hard it is to have kids at home who need you. Will also be praying for
your son & his care giver while you are apart. I am having a mechanical
valve put in only because I have been on coumadin (warfarin) for over
twenty years and must continue for life. For me it made more sense
since the life of a mechanical is longer. As my surgeon said "practice meditation - it will help both before and after surgery. "
