HI KEN THANKS FOR YOUR POST AND THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE TO OUR GREAT COUNTRY I REALLY ENJOYED MY TIME IN THE NAVY EVEN MY YEAR AND A HALF IN PORTSMOTH NAVAL HOSPITAL AS A PATIENT THEY TOOK VERY GOOD CARE OF ME AND PUT ME OUT ON DISABILITY RETIRED I HAD A GREAT TIME IN THE NAVY I WAS A AVIATION STORE KEEPER AND ORDERED THE BLACK BOXES FOR OUR AIRCRAFT TO KEEP OUR PILOTS FLYING GREAT TO HEAR FROM ANOTHER NAVY MAN YOUR HEART BROTHER (POPEYE)

I was told by my doctor I might experience a cough when he put me on ramipril (years ago). I was lucky, though, and never experienced it. Your one year anniversary is coming up, isn't it? Mine is Apr 28th (AVR).

Hello Kenneth! Glad reading that you are on the other side of surgery and are more than likely taking bets at the nurses station on increasing your rounds of the station and speed! Do remember to take it slowly so your brain and body can keep things balanced(don't want to rush it and end up in a nurses lap at the nurses station now, do you! Ha.! It is such a great feeling just being able to walk around and every face you stare into in the hallway has a big grin for you and you can't help but stand up a little taller and push out your chest(yes, even us women do it!) as for me the fact the sternum incision is now holding strong and healing up makes you so proud of it as it is beautiful proof of being "on the other side" and such a large relief. I can't wait to read all of the posts back and forth from you to the Heart Brothers who have been joking back and forth with you! It will be good for you all to Heal together, yes?! Take care and congratulations Heart Brother.

oh my ! This is sooo hilarious, AND true. It is behind you now! Wishing you a speedy recovery and remember, according to Adam's book , Everyone heals at their own speed, so cut yourself some slack. I am a year and a half out, and I never realized how subtle the changes were as my disease progressed, and how Fantastic I would feel . All good thoughts and prayers for you and your family. P.s. Your top ten list beats Letterman's any day 😃of the week !,,😃 Godspeed .

Kenneth-I want you to know I will be sending prayers your way tomorrow while you are having your surgery as well as until you head for recovery! I hope you are feeling positive and sure of your team. Take good thoughts into surgery with you and I believe you will be surprised that the surgery seems to go fast and how happy you will feel being on the other side of it with all of the waiting over! Hi Ken - Don't know what happened but tried to sign up again to follow you and got a message that the email already exists? In any case, thanks for the good wishes. I seem to recall you saying your surgery was on the same day but I didn't see your name on the upcoming list. If it is tomorrow, I hope everything goes smoothly. I feel about as ready as I can be for my big event tomorrow and now am just waiting to wake up. I will stay in touch!

Hi Kenneth, I am actually a return member. I was originally scheduled for surgery on January 13 2014. After a cardiac cath in prep for the surgery in December 2013 I was granted a reprieve. That, unfortunately has ended. This community is awesome! I actually found it after reading the book. I look forward to following you and hearing all about your successful surgery outcome! Sharon
