Hi Nadia,
I am 6 months into my recovery from heart valve surgery (aortic valve replacement). Then six weeks following that operation I had a total hysterectomy which complicated my recovery but I am doing well and am delighted with my progress.
My friend, Henry, had his aortic valve and root replaced about 16 years ago and has never looked back. He says he can do anything he wants to do now. His new valve is mechanical and he will be on a blood thinner for the rest of his life but otherwise he is doing great.
